Users can create profiles, discover nearby mothers with aligned values, exchange support, and build trusted communities.
3. What information does Mamas Village collect about you?

Mamas Village will provide individuals with the opportunity to remain anonymous or use a pseudonym in their dealings with us where it is lawful and practicable (for example, when making a general enquiry). Generally, it is not practicable for Mamas Village to deal with individuals anonymously or pseudonymously on an ongoing basis. If we do not collect personal information about you, you may be unable to utilise our services or participate in our events, programs or activities we manage or deliver.
7. How does Mamas Village hold information?

Mamas Village stores information with electronic record keeping methods in secure databases (including trusted third party storage providers based in Australia or overseas). Mamas Village maintains computer and network security through Firebase's built-in security infrastructure, including user authentication and access controls.

Mamas Village uses SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission and encryption at rest for all stored personal information via Google Firebase infrastructure.

We take steps to destroy or de-identify information that we no longer require.

In the event of an eligible data breach (being unauthorised access to, disclosure of, or loss of personal information likely to result in serious harm), Mamas Village will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner within 30 days of becoming aware of the breach, including details of the information affected, potential consequences, and recommended protective steps.

Mamas Village retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. We will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days of your account being deleted by you, or within 30 days of 12 months of account inactivity with prior email notice to you, unless we are legally required to retain it for longer periods (such as for taxation or dispute resolution purposes).
8. Does Mamas Village use or disclose your personal information for direct marketing?

9. How does Mamas Village use and disclose personal information?

The purposes for which we may use and disclose your personal information will depend on the services we are providing you. For example, if you have engaged us to deliver a service, we may disclose information about you to service providers where this is relevant to our services.
9.2. Disclosure to contractors and other service providers

Mamas Village may disclose information to third parties we engage in order to provide our services, including contractors and service providers used for data processing, data analysis, customer satisfaction surveys, information technology services and support, website maintenance/development and market research. Third party service providers we currently use include Google Firebase (data storage and authentication), Apple (app distribution), and Facebook (optional social login).

Third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information may contact you directly to let you know they have collected your personal information and to give you information about their privacy policies.

Where Mamas Village discloses personal information to third parties, we will take reasonable steps to ensure those parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and comply with the Australian Privacy Principles or substantially similar privacy standards.

10. Does Mamas Village disclose your personal information overseas?

Mamas Village uses third-party service providers including Google Firebase to store and process personal information. It is likely that your personal information will be disclosed to overseas recipients as a result.

Unless we have your consent, or an exception under the Australian Privacy Principles applies, we will only disclose your personal information to overseas recipients where we have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to your personal information.

Entities which are related entities of Mamas Village or are otherwise affiliated with Mamas Village in United States, Ireland, Singapore. In circumstances where your information is disclosed to overseas recipients, those recipients are likely to be located in countries in the regions in which Mamas Village and its related entities and affiliates operate. These countries are where Google Firebase, our secure data storage provider, operates its server infrastructure. Firebase is compliant with international privacy standards including ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

By using the App, you expressly consent to the overseas disclosure of your personal information (including location data, profile information, and private messages) for the purposes of data storage, backup, and analytics. You acknowledge that overseas recipients may be subject to foreign laws, including surveillance and data access laws, and that Mamas Village has entered into data processing agreements with service providers to ensure compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
11. How can you access or seek correction of your personal information?

You are entitled to access your personal information held by Mamas Village on request. To request access to your personal information please contact our privacy officer using the contact details set out below.

You will not be charged for making a request to access your personal information but you may be charged for the reasonable time and expense incurred in compiling information in response to your request.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. You can help us to do this by letting us know if you notice errors or discrepancies in information we hold about you and letting us know if your personal details change.

However, if you consider any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading you are entitled to request correction of the information. After receiving a request from you, we will take reasonable steps to correct your information.

We may ask you to provide further information about your complaint and the outcome you are seeking. In most cases, we will investigate and respond to a complaint within 30 days of receipt of the complaint. If the matter is more complex or our investigation may take longer, we will let you know.

13. How changes are made to this Privacy Policy?
Mamas Village may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification before changes take effect. We recommend you visit our website regularly to stay informed.
14. What rights do users have regarding policy changes?
Material changes (including expanded data collection, changed use purposes, increased overseas disclosure, reduced user rights, or modified security practices) require 30 days advance notice with clear explanation of privacy impacts. For changes reducing privacy protections, users must affirmatively consent before new terms apply. Users may delete their accounts within 30 days if they disagree with material changes, and existing data remains subject to prior terms unless users consent to new provisions.
